In her role, Tamma advises on direct environmental issues such as natural resource requirements and waste management, as well as being able to support with staff engagement, financial savings and business resilience planning.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for businesses to be legally and environmentally sound, become more cost efficient, and do something altruistic at the same time,” she says.

Tamma has always been interested in STEM subjects, from school age. She completed a BSc in Biology and Psychology at Newcastle University, and then returned after one year in industry to complete an MSc in Environmental Consultancy.

She is truly passionate about her work – and also the role of women in the STEM agenda. “With more women in the field, it will become more evident to young girls what they can offer the business, industry and the wider world – thereby closing the gender gap and altering the ‘norm’,” she says.
