Environmental auditing:
Internal auditor training

About this training module:

Gain the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to complete internal Environmental Management System (EMS) audits. Our workshops are best delivered in-house, for a minimum of five people.

During the course you will plan an audit, develop audit checklists based on the requirements of ISO 14001 and complete a live audit on site, concluding with writing an audit report.

The live site audit allows you to use your new skills to complete an audit checklist, gather evidence, complete a document review and conduct site staff interviews.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for anyone responsible for carrying out Internal EMS Audit in their organisation.

This course is practical and based around the internal environmental management system audit requirements of ISO 14001.

On successful completion, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the requirements of ISO14001
  • Understand how to audit compliance against environmental legislation
  • Understand auditing techniques and principles
  • Understand how to plan and conduct an audit programme
  • Carry out an audit including site walk around, document review and interviews
  • Understand the processes for audit reporting and follow up action, including raising non-conformances
    and setting corrective actions

Course Duration

  • 14 Hours of Guided Learning Over 2 Days

The Internal Auditor training course really helped our staff to understand the requirements of ISO14001, and especially the relevance to our business.

We learned how to conduct our internal audit programme, which was supported by the practical audit activity, which cemented the theory into practice
